Emo Nite brought summer chaos to Academy LA on August 8th with a fully decked-out “Beach Bash” theme. Fake trees, inflatable tubes, pool toys, and beach balls filled the nightclub, turning the dance floor into a neon shoreline of sweaty scene kids and sun-drenched nostalgia.
The night kicked off with an energetic opening set from DJ Foreign Warren, who came out wearing a shark hat and dove straight into a wave of beach-themed (but definitely not emo) hits. Tracks like “California” by Phantom Planet, “Espresso” by Sabrina Carpenter, and “Starships” by Nicki Minaj instantly got the crowd moving as everyone waited for the emo classics to drop. He wrapped up the set with his throwback track “Myspace Pic” by Millionaires.
Outside, the silent disco on the patio was another standout moment. Partygoers switched between two battling DJs, one channel playing the beloved emo anthems, the other spinning indie-dance cuts and even some EDM. The dueling vibes kept the outdoor crowd bouncing between moshy nostalgia and rave-y release.

The night’s special surprise guest was Honey Revenge, featuring vocalist Devin Papadol and guitarist Donny Lloyd. Their DJ set blended emo staples with their own songs, but the true shocker of the night came when Devin dropped “Party Rock Anthem” by LMFAO, a left-field choice that absolutely detonated the room and became the undeniable peak of the entire event.
